I’m confused here. What’s the point of skipping fuel on a plane? You still use the same amount of fuel for the distance you’re covering. If a plane has enough fuel for 100km that’s what it has fuel for, skipping fuel won’t change the fact that to go a further 25km you need equivalent fuel for that. Whether you pour it or not you’ll need more fuel to reach that destination. How’s that a logical thing to do? I can delay pouring gas in my car today but to get to work tomorrow I’ll still need to pour fuel so whether I pour it today after work and go nowhere or pour it tomorrow morning I’ll still need fuel to get to work🤷🏿‍♂️…how is not buying fuel saving money? If your pour more than you need that’s not money wasted because you’ll use it the following day.

I am genuinely curious about the request for an altitude of 35,000 ft, for a 75 min flight. Yes, im aware that tubines burn less fuel at higher flight levels but think about this: Passengers are not gonna stand for a climb rate of 2,000fpm or more are they? Its gonna take 20min to reach that cruising altitude at best, at a climb rate of 1750fpm. It takes a lot more fuel to lift a loaded plane, pax, and tankered fuel than to throttle back and decend to 10,000 ft. Now youre back to high consumption levels, maneuvering at increased throttle, setting up for the approach. Im sure my premise is flawed. The way i figure, this flight will take 20 min up, 35 min down, leaving only approximately 20 min cruise. Would an ATP rated pilot please comment on where this scenario is wrong? Im sure it must be wrong, id just like to know where. Will 20 min at cruise make up for all other high consumption flight regimes? No trolls please.

My aunt lives like 30 min away from Paradise fire, ca, United States. That was in 2018. 52,000 was evacuated. Was the worst fire in America. They to only had one hwy out of Paradise. It was horrible. Just in 2021. New housing was developed for the ones that lost their homes. I was so happy. Sadly where my aunt lives Oroville ca, there is huge homeless crisis due to the fire. Her town of Oroville was one of the evacuation towns. It’s so sad to see these fires destroy peoples homes, towns and their families. Even the ones that lost their lives. So horrific. Pray for this town to rebuild and get back to normal. 🙏🏾🇨🇦
